Recipes, restaurants, and reunions...

We've been having a great last bit of summer, and are so glad the weather has finally cooled down some. This past weekend it got down into the 50's at night. So nice. We were able to see Jason's parents this past weekend, so that was really awesome. They came to visit for Conner's Baby Dedication, and it was a great weekend filled with family time.

Big boy standing up in his crib and wearing his t-shirt and pants pajama set. What a little cutie patootie!

On promotion Sunday at our church I got paged to come pick Conner up from the nursery during Life Group. While we were in the hallway waiting on our class to get out, we snapped some photos of ourselves. He usually takes his morning nap about the time of pretty much all of church on Sunday mornings, and he has a really hard time falling asleep in the room with all the other babies playing. He just doesn't want to miss out on any of the fun. Some weeks he does great, though, so it's all good.

Whenever Kylee is around, Conner just watches her ... he's so fascinated by her, I think.

 Goodnight, Lion...

We brought Conner to the Jason Castro concert at our church on a Sunday evening even though it was right about the time he goes to bed. He did so great! He watched the stage for a while and chewed on his teether. Towards the end, he fell asleep in Jason's arms. It was the cutest thing. He did great on the way home and fell asleep back in his crib pretty quickly.

Conner got his first "boo boo" at play group - fell face first onto a xylophone. He cried quite a bit, but then got over it pretty quick. He played hard and was asleep before we made it out of the neighborhood. He had a lot of fun and was worn out.

Pulling up on everything and exploring more and more.

 Favorite toy = books. :)

I made some spicy pulled pork for tacos and it was DELISH! Love fresh, homemade pico de gallo and avocados. You can't forget the Rosa's torillas! So good.

My little helper keeping tabs on my wallet at the store.

I bought this fan for Conner and got one for my niece, Kylee, for our trip to the zoo. We didn't end up going to the zoo, but I still kept the fans. It's hot here in Texas ... I'm sure we'll use them eventually!

Daddy reading the Little Blue Truck - one of Conner's favorites!

Jason was being funny in the car, so I took a pic. Gotta keep your breakfast safe when you're on the road!

Conner cruising at MiMi and Paw Paw's. He's getting good at this!

 Vintage toy, 1988.

Conner is such a great eater, even in a loud and crowded restaurant. Opens his mouth like a little birdie. So cute.

Conner is too cool for school with Daddy's hat on!

My mom bought some books to keep at her house so we don't have to worry about bringing some with us every time we go over there in the evening. I think she picked some good ones!

Bath toys and soap, too. Conner's going to have a blast!

I thought this was too funny. Somebody's ready to tackle the day!

Conner and I went to the Bring Your Baby Matinee movie, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, and he did so good! He was definitely not sitting quietly through the whole movie, but he did end up falling asleep towards the end. It was something fun and different to do together.

 We love the movies!

By far my favorite picture of Conner right now. Even with the crusted boogies. This was in the food court after our movie ... eating lunch together. :)

Starting to get pretty big next to that elephant!

Conner has started to eat the little snack puffs. He grabs them with his little index finger and thumb and tries to bite them with his teeth. He's also figured out how to gum them, which is pretty adorable. He can only handle one at a time on the highchair tray ... any more and he's completely overwhelmed. Ha! So, he's getting there slowly but surely. Exciting developments!

 Get it, bud!

Hmmm, what to read? What to read?

 He really loves books. :)

Friday we went over to the townhouse, and hung out with Big B and Grandma Su Su. Courtney and Justin had an appointment in Irving, so they picked Kylee up from school and we had fun hanging with the kiddos before they got back. Dinner time for the Bear!

Dinner time for Kylee ... almost time to put the Bear to bed! We had spaghetti for dinner, which was delicious. We also watched the Rangers game and had brownies and ice cream for dessert.

Saturday we hung out at Grandma Su Su and Big B's! Kylee was napping ... so the rest of us went to Plucker's Wing Bar for lunch and to watch the Aggie/Gator game.

My sweet go-with-the-flow baby! Lots of TVs to watch and he was golden.

Kylee and I made some Organic Disinfecting All-Purpose Spray and it smells so good. The recipe is:
-1/4 cup vinegar (orange infused)
-2 tsp. borax
-1/4 cup liquid castille soap (I used the Tea Tree kind)
-2 cups hot water
-1 drop food coloring

I am highly satisfied! And the reason they are 2 different colors is because I didn't realize we were only supposed to use 1 drop food coloring, so the one on the left (mine) has about 4 drops, and the one on the right has 1. Only difference. :)

Waiting backstage for the baby dedication in church Sunday morning. Conner did so good. He is such a great baby!

Conner's Baby Dedication was yesterday at our church. It's really a dedication of the parents to introduce their child to the God of the Bible and teach them to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, and strength. It's a huge responsibility, but Jason and I are so excited. Conner did so good on the stage and even patted the crying baby next to him on the shoulder. It was sweet.

Kylee went to the nursery during the service and had a lot of fun! She was loving running around in the Atrium at church, too. :)

My family and Chris and Kylee. :)

My mom wanted a picture of her and Conner when she was dressed up. She's got pictures of the two of them, but she's usually in a t-shirt. I think we got some good ones!

Jason looks so much like his dad. Handsome Smith men!

We had everybody over to the house for lunch. I made Crunchy Corn Dip (scroll down for recipe) for an appetizer, and then Chicken Enchiladas, green beans, salad, and Cherry Limeade. It was pretty tasty, if I do say so myself.

I also ordered a Nothing Bundt Cake for the occasion. My favorite flavor is the White Chocolate Raspberry, so that's the one I got. Don't know if you can read the little flag, but it says "Proud to be your parents, Conner-Bear!"

Big B was playing with his grandbabies with the Curious George book. Kylee was a little freaked out at first, but she ended up liking it. But, it's pretty much Conner's favorite book of all time right now. He LOVES it. Thanks, Aunt Beth!

Kylee was being so cute and hamming it up! Conner puts everything in his mouth right now, so she copied him and put the bulldozer in her mouth and everyone laughed. She was eating up the attention!

Kylee, where's daddy's bottom?

Uncle Justin and the kiddos. :)

It was great to have everyone over: Justin, Courtney, Kylee, Barry, Susan, Chris, Kylee, Mom, Dad, and Brady. Jason, Conner, and I are so blessed. :)

Me and my parents.

Me and my bestie! So thankful for my friend!

This morning Conner was being a little ham in his highchair. Thank you Grandma Su Su for the cute onsie and bib! He is definitely handsome like his daddy. :)
